In collaboration with the Department of Art History, the Photogrammetry Institute would like to announce their third event of the semester! Dr. Brendan Weaver will be talking about his use of photogrammetry at his archaeological site in Nasca, Peru.
The College of Medicine and the American Medical Women's Association Chapter present FSU Women's Health Day, a free health education and resource event supporting the wellness of our community. This event will offer vital signs, mental health resources, financial tips, education on sexual safety, group exercise classes, and more. The event will take place 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, on Landis Green.
For International Education Month, join faculty and students from the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics on Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate their programs on languages and cultures from around the world.
In this 12-session group offered by graduate student therapists at the FSU Psychology Clinic, parents will learn evidence-based strategies for managing disruptive and noncompliant child behaviors and improving the parent-child relationship.
Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 1 for an HR Lunch & Learn with Billy Francis of the Student Veterans Center to learn about how to support veterans and the resources FSU offers to do so.
Dr. Rahma Mkuu is a health outcomes and chronic disease researcher at the University of Florida. Her overarching research focuses on the influence of social determinants of health on chronic disease related health behaviors globally.
In this talk, Dr. Mkuu will examine the impact of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) worldwide and their modifiable risk factors, such as tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, harmful alcohol consumption, and obesity. NCDs are responsible for over 70% of global deaths, with cardiovascular diseases leading the way. Notably, low- and middle-income countries bear a disproportionately heavy burden of NCD mortality, and Kenya is no exception.
