Youth Swim Lessons with Hosford Swim School at the Leach Center

Small group and one-on-one swimming lessons for children ages two and older are now available to book with Hosford Swim School. The lessons will be held at the Leach Center pool, with sessions available from Feb. 10 through April 10, excluding Spring Break.

Dr. Jim Fourqurean Lecture on Februray 20th 2025

Join the FSU Coastal and Marine Laboratory from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, for the first FSUCML lecture of 2025. Jim Fourqurean will discuss his work with seagrasses, their ecological importance and their potential for climate change mitigation. Admission is free, and refreshments will be provided.

“Magnetic Dances,” part of the Festival of the Creative Arts, has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the Nancy Smith Fichter Dance Theatre on the FSU campus. The festival is a campuswide celebration presented by the FSU Office of Research that celebrates the diverse talents and creativity of faculty and students. The first events now begin this Sunday.

The FSU Innovation Hub and College of Social Sciences and Public Policy will host a 24-hour design sprint from 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, to tackle evacuation challenges for Florida’s coastal communities. The event is open to students of all majors and includes expert mentorship, meals, t-shirts and a chance to win $3,000 in prizes.
