Machine Learning Expo - Call for Abstracts
This message has been approved by Dr. Gordon Erlebacher, program director of Interdisciplinary Data Science, for distribution to students, faculty and staff.
The improvements in machine learning over the past few years have been nothing less than staggering and are slowly affecting every aspect of our lives. To help us better appreciate the scope of this influence and how some of us are taking advantage of it, the Interdisciplinary Data Science Program at Florida State University is hosting MLX23, a one-day machine-learning conference, to learn about how machine learning is impacting all of us.
The conference, on Saturday, April 22 at the Jim Moran Building, will feature 15-minute talks or poster presentations from faculty, researchers, staff, and students across the university on how they have incorporated these new technologies into their research, daily activities, and departmental or university operations. Each talk or poster will explore one succinct use case demonstrating the problem, its solution via ML, and an objective analysis comparing the subject before and after ML integration.
The MLX23 committee requests abstracts (one-page maximum) from those interested in participating in a talk or poster presentation. Please submit using this Qualtrics survey (https://fsu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_b96azkDu2xM2a7c) by no later than March 18, 2023.
Please contact Jennifer Clark, Administrative Director of the Master's in Interdisciplinary Data Science program (jsclark2@fsu.edu) with any questions.
