This series of events will help you understand every aspect of applying to grad school. See a detailed schedule below about all the week's sessions.

Tuesday, October 25th

To Go or Not Go: Considering Graduate School & Researching Your Options
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Students will explore key factors in making the career decision to pursue an advanced degree through graduate or professional school. Designed to help students learn how to research programs, explore tools and gain resources related to finding, selecting and applying to graduate programs.

Considering FSU Grad Programs
11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Interested in continuing your education at FSU? Join the FSU Graduate Enrollment Team to learn more about The Graduate School, student opportunities, and the application process.

Considering Going to Medical & Health Programs
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Are you thinking that you want to go to medical school or graduate school for a health profession? Meet with Michon Ashmore, Career Liaison to discuss exploring the path to applying to these types of graduate programs.

Applying to Law School Programs
3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Hear from the FSU Pre-Law Advising Team about important steps to take as part of the application process for law school.

Wednesday, October 26th

Funding Your Graduate Experience
11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Hear from the Office of Graduate Fellowships and Awards, The Office of Financial Aid and the FSU Graduate School to explore options for funding your graduate education including loans, graduate assistantships, fellowships and more!

GAP Year Programs
1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Interested in taking a GAP Year before beginning Grad School? Unsure of what to do during this time, join us to hear from Teach for America and City Year to learn about their GAP year programs. They will answer general questions about GAP years during our Q&A before moving into individual breakout rooms where you can ask specific questions about their programs.

Get Connected – ProfessioNole Mentors Program Overview
3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Attend a virtual info session to learn about our online mentoring program, ProfessioNole Mentors. ProfessioNole Mentors connects students with professionals and alumni for career advice and guidance. The program is a great opportunity for you to learn from current graduate students and professionals who have been there!

Thursday, October 27th

How to Get the Best Letter of Rec
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Need a letter from a faculty member for Grad school, or that scholarship? Wonder how to go about it? Come to this informative workshop led by the Academic Center for Excellence and learn all you need to know about how to get the BEST letter of recommendation!               

Writing Your Personal Statement
12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
An important workshop for any student considering graduate or professional school, applying for scholarships/fellowships, or seeking other kinds of opportunities that require personal statements.  Students will receive tips and strategies for formatting and content creation of effective personal statement.

Building Your Grad School Resume
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Designed for students unsure of where to begin in writing a resume/CV for graduate programs. We'll discuss the purpose of a resume, the various sections within a resume, different resume styles, and strategies for formatting.
