Writing in Camaraderie Holds Us Accountable

Office of Faculty Development and Advancement

This message has been approved by Vice President Janet Kistner.

From May 1 - August 13, FSU faculty will have daily opportunities to write in community this summer. Peggy Wright-Cleveland from the Office of Faculty Development and Advancement will host two Summer writing groups, one early morning and one mid-day, both open to faculty in any career stage. You may participate at any stage of the writing process and with any writing project (syllabus, article, grant proposal, book chapter, etc.). We gather, share our goals for the day's session, and write. Before we leave, we report on our progress.

Both sessions will be hosted on Zoom. Drop-ins are welcome, but the practice is most effective when faculty make a regular commitment. Daily, weekly, or bi-weekly, the frequency of writing matters less than the commitment to a regular schedule. Reserve some summer hours to face your writing tasks and join us.

Morning Writing for Early Risers: 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m., EDT, Monday - Friday ZOOM LINK

Mid-day Writing for Regular People (or late nighters): 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., EDT, Monday - Friday ZOOM LINK
