Student email upgrades to @fsu.edu accounts May 4

Bye Bye My | FSU Student Email Upgrade

This message has been approved by Bobby Sprinkle, chief technology officer.

In May, all student email accounts will transition to @fsu.edu email addresses.

Your new email will look like this: FSUID@fsu.edu

The upgrade will happen the evening of Wednesday, May 4.

After the move, you will have a new Office 365 account and email mailbox. Your email will end with @fsu.edu instead of @my.fsu.edu, giving it a more professional look. Other than that, your new account will look and feel very similar to your current experience. All your email account data, including mail, calendar and contacts, will be moved to the new @fsu.edu account. All your OneDrive data will also be migrated. Teams data will not be migrated, so if you have any important files saved on Teams, you will need to download the files before May 4 and create new teams and reupload files into your new Teams site after May 4.

As part of this change, your @fsu.edu email will become your official FSU email address. This is the email address where you will receive all official university communications.

Watch for a series of emails leading up to the move. After May 4, you will need to set up your new @fsu.edu email on your computer, phone and other devices and sign in to your Office 365 apps with your new @fsu.edu email and password. You will also want to update the email address you have listed for accounts such as Instagram or Amazon to point to your new FSUID@fsu.edu email address.

Moving student and employee emails into the same system will give you access to the same tools as faculty and staff. Use Microsoft Teams to chat with professors or share files for that group project. The collab possibilities are endless!

And don't worry—you can still use your new @fsu.edu email to receive student discounts.
