Lead Students in Local Service
This message has been approved by Dr. Joi Phillips, director of the Center for Leadership & Social Change.
Are you ready to level up your commitment to community service? The Center for Leadership & Social Change seeks dedicated students to serve as volunteer facilitators for weekly service trips with Engage TLH in the spring semester. Facilitators commit to leading and attending one service trip or project each week for the semester, report to a center staff member, and regularly keep in contact with one or more staff at a partner non-profit agency.
Students who become Engage TLH facilitators can expect to:
- Develop as a leader as you facilitate a service experience
- Serve alongside a community through an agency partnership
- Plan and facilitate pre-trip education surrounding your social issue
- Collaborate with a co-facilitator and team of participants
While the specific communities agencies may change from year to year, Engage TLH typically has six or more participating at a given time. Issue areas may include aging, poverty and homelessness, children and youth, public gardens and the environment, hunger and food insecurity.
Facilitator applications are currently open on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.
