Join FSU’s LGBTQ+ Employee Group
This message has been approved by the network co-chairs, Karin Brewster and Paige Rentz.
The Queer & Trans Employee Network, Florida State University’s affinity group for LGBTQ+ faculty and staff, is putting out a call for new members.
The network’s purpose is to promote an inclusive and affirming campus climate for all employees and students, remaining specifically aware of the experiences of employees who identify as queer or trans, while recognizing and honoring their multiple and layered identities.
With the assistance of the Office of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, the network is currently in the process of reorganizing, with plans to fully relaunch this fall. We plan to hold an organizational meeting on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 15, at which revised bylaws may be adopted and new officers elected. Following the organizational meeting, we will host a social hour to help members from across campus connect with one another and build community.
To that end, we have created an interest form for FSU employees who may want to join the network. From that survey, we will build a new mailing list of potential members and collect feedback on how QTEN could best serve LGBTQ+ employees at Florida State.
