PIE Teaching Workshops: Proctored Testing & Alternative Assessments
This message has been approved by Dr. Lisa Liseno, Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, for distribution to students, faculty and staff.
Assessment of student competency can be a challenging detail in overall course design. It is important to choose the variety of testing—proctored, open book, etc.—that is best suited for your class and your course learning objectives. PIE's Coffee Hour & Teaching Workshop Series is providing two separate but related upcoming workshops on proctored testing and alternative assessments. During the workshop on Thursday, June 10, speakers from FSU’s Office of Distance of Learning will discuss and demonstrate the testing tool Honorlock, and tips for ensuring online academic integrity. On Friday, June 11, the Director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching will address alternative methods to online proctored assessment. Come join us virtually!

In the previous workshop, our facilitators covered using FSU proctored testing tools...but what about when proctored testing is not your ideal solution for assessment? What other tools and techniques can you use to gauge student mastery of the content? In this workshop, our facilitator from the Center for the Advancement of Teaching will discuss alternate assessment options.
