This message has been approved by Dr. Lisa Liseno, Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, for distribution to students, faculty and staff.
Please join us for DIRECTO’s 3rd Annual Spring Conversation Series. Each of these events is provided virtually and free of charge thanks to the generous sponsorship of the FSU’s President’s Council on Diversity and Inclusion, The Office of the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs, The College of Business, The Graduate School, and The Congress of Graduate Students (COGS). All students, faculty, staff, postdocs, alumni, and members of the surrounding community are welcome!
Each Spring 2021 DIRECTO Conversation Series event falls on the 3rd Friday of the month (1/15, 2/19, 3/19 and 4/16), from 11:45am-1:30pm via Zoom. You may register for all, or a portion, of each event! Topics & registration links will be advertised soon! Topics will include: Anti-Racism in Course Content, Going Beyond the Diversity Statement: Actionable Guidelines for Fostering Multicultural Competence in Higher Education, Human Motivation Theory and Identity Development, and Position Acculturation Strategies for Transformational Learning and Academic Success, among others. Event facilitators include faculty, staff and students from FSU and the surrounding community.
Spring Conversation Series Goal
We hope these events will create a “brave-space” for individuals and groups within the FSU community to discuss issues surrounding diversity, inclusion, and equity. More importantly, we want attendees and participants to walk away from the event with tangible ways to incorporate diversity and inclusion in their research projects and teaching methods.
