Florida State University's Institute for Governance & Civics will welcome Yuval Levin, a scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, on Tuesday, Nov. 10, for a discussion on how American democracy balances the will of the majority with the rights of minorities.

Levin directs social, cultural and constitutional studies at the American Enterprise Institute and serves as editor-in-chief of National Affairs. His work examines American political institutions and how people with differing views can govern together.
In his talk, "Majorities, Minorities, and the Declaration of Independence," Levin will explore how the Declaration of Independence framed this fundamental question, how the U.S. Constitution addressed it and why the issue remains relevant today.

The program will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Club Downunder in the FSU Student Union.

The event is free and open to the public, though advanced registration is encouraged. You can register now or visit the IGC events page to explore more upcoming programs and speakers.
