This hands-on informatics workshop will introduce researchers to key principles and best practices for developing prediction models using EHR data. Topics will include cohort definition, feature engineering from structured and unstructured EHR data, model selection and evaluation, and common pitfalls such as data leakage and bias. The workshop is designed to support investigators across the translational spectrum and aligns with the data science and analytics mission of Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Informatics by building practical skills for reproducible, clinically meaningful prediction modeling.
