Florida Institute for Child Welfare Golf Invitational
This message has been approved by Dr. David Springer, Dean and Guy & Delores Spearman Professor of Social Work, for distribution to students, faculty and staff.
The Florida Institute for Child Welfare (FICW), housed in the Florida State University (FSU) College of Social Work, invites FSU students, faculty, staff, and local residents of all ages to participate in its inaugural Golf Invitational. The event will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club.
Golfers will join PGA professional Tom Shea, FSU Athletics Hall of Fame legend and LPGA professional Jane Geddes, and local celebrities Jeff Cameron and Tom Lang of The Jeff Cameron Show on 93.3 Real Talk Radio, for 18 holes, food, drinks, and a putting challenge.
Proceeds from the event will be used to advance education and training initiatives to strengthen the child welfare workforce, reaching both students preparing for careers in child welfare and frontline professionals.
Reflecting its continuous efforts to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families in Florida, the FICW is committing 10% of all proceeds to its annual service partner, the Oasis Center for Women & Girls.
Organizations and individuals are invited to showcase their commitment to the FICW’s mission by becoming a sponsor, with a range of sponsorship levels and in‑kind opportunities still available.
The cost to participate is $300 per player, or $1,100 per team of four, a savings of $100. Spots are limited.
