Title: Is oyster restoration working? Insights from small- to large-scale restoration projects.

Description: Dr. Matt Ogburn is a Marine Ecologist and Senior Scientist leading the Fisheries Conservation Lab at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. The lab focuses on understanding the biology and ecology of fisheries species, the ecosystems that support them, and how this information can be applied in management and conservation. Focal species include oysters, crabs, anadromous fish, and elasmobranchs. He combines traditional oyster sampling with underwater video and high-resolution sonar to gain new insights into how oyster reefs work.
