Now Accepting Pre-Applications for the Mentored Career Development Program

The FSU CTSA, is pleased to announce the Mentored Career Development Program in Clinical and
Translational Science, funded by the National Center for Advanced Translational Sciences (NCATS). We are
accepting pre-applications from junior faculty committed to conducting translational research. The mission
of the CTSA Mentored Career Development Program is to prepare emerging investigators to build successful
careers focused on translational research. This opportunity will support selected Scholars for at least two
years with 75% salary support, up to $90,000, and over $22,500 for research and training.
ELIGIBILITY: Candidates must be U.S. citizens, citizen nationals, or have permanent residency status.
Eligible applicants will have earned a clinical or research doctorate, including PhD, ScD, DrPH, MD, DO, DC,
ND, DDS, DMD, DNS or equivalent. Candidates must be junior-level, full-time faculty or be able to provide
confirmation from Division or Department leadership of a faculty appointment on or before May 1, 2025.
Candidates cannot hold an extramural career development award or have an extramural career development
application under review at the time of submission for the K12 or CTSA Scholar Award.
KEY DATES:
1. Cycle Begins: October 28, 2024
2. Optional K12 Q&A Session and Proposal Design Studio: November 21, 2024 at 12:00 PM via Zoom
3. Pre-Application Submission: December 20, 2024
4. Candidate Invited for Full Application: January 13, 2025
5. Paper Review: January-February 2025
6. Candidate Interviews: February-March 2025
7. Award Decisions Made: April 2025
8. Official Start Date: July 1, 2025 (Notice of Award may be issued in September and backdated to July 1st)

1. Letter of Intent with Research Overview (1-2 pages)
2. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
3. NIH Biosketch forPrimaryMentor
4. Two Letters of Support: 1 from the Primary Mentor and 1 from the Candidate’s Supervisor (1-2pages each)
INVITED APPLICATION: The following materials are required for the full invited application:
1. Career Development Plan (2 pages)
2. Specific Aims (1 page)
3. Research Strategy (4 pages)
4. Other Summary Information: Including Study Timeline, Protections of Human Subjects, etc. (2 pages)
5. NIH Biosketch for the Candidate
6. NIH Biosketches for all Mentors
7. Letters of Support: Up to 4 letters, including 1 from Primary Mentor and 1 from the Candidate’s Supervisor.
