Agree to Disagree 2024: Florida Politics
This message was approved by Sierra R. Turner, program director, Office of Student Agencies and Institutes, for distribution to students, faculty and staff.
Agree to Disagree is an annual collaboration between College of Social Sciences and Public Policy Student Leadership Council (SLC) and Power of WE built on the conviction that people of differing political viewpoints can engage across differences. We invite students of all backgrounds, beliefs, and opinions to come together and share insightful discussion over dinner focusing on this year's theme: Florida politics. Join us for an evening of meaningful discussion, food, and fun!
Agree to Disagree will be held on Wednesday, April 3rd at 5:30PM in the FSU Honors, Scholars, and Fellows House Great Hall. Check-in begins at 5:00PM; please arrive at least 10 minutes early. Food and drinks will be provided. Register today to reserve your spot!
This year's keynote speaker, Professor Emirita Dr. Carol Weissert, will start off the event by sharing her expertise on Florida politics with participants before they begin discussion. Dr. Weissert was the LeRoy Collins Eminent Scholar and Professor of Political Science at Florida State University from 2003-2021. She is a fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) and was the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in American Political Science in Australia in 2016. She received the Daniel J. Elazar award for Distinguished Scholarship of the American Political Science Association and the Donald Stone Award for Distinguished Scholarship in Intergovernmental Relations of the American Society of Public Administration.
