Seminole Dining is going green this St. Patrick’s Day with a celebration to remember!
The celebration begins with a Gold Search kicking off on March 8th and running until the start of the event on March 17th. Students are encouraged to participate in the gold hunt around campus in exchange for gold coins. If you’re lucky, each stop on the gold hunt will earn you a coin or two that can be exchanged at the St. Patrick’s Day event in Suwannee Room for prizes. Each gold coin can also be exchanged for tickets to be entered to win a grand prize! For more information about the gold search, visit https://seminoledining.campusdish.com/events.
The St. Patrick’s Day event on Wednesday, March 17th in Suwannee Room will consist of a themed menu including Corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes, grilled Ruben, Shepherd’s pie, braised red cabbage with apple, a Lucky Charms bar, and more!
For this special occasion, Seminole Dining has partnered with Legacy Greens to sample lucky microgreens! Legacy Greens is a local microgreens producer that uses no pesticides or fertilizers on its product. Microgreens are the seedlings of vegetables and herbs, typically eaten 10-14 days after sprouting, and have been found to be 4-40x more nutrient-dense than adult veggies! The potential health benefits include an immune system boost, reduced inflammation, improved cardiovascular health, and improved digestion. If you enjoy the samplings here, be sure to leave feedback via https://aramark.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d75pU5KKK5Gign3. You may even see them offered in the P.O.D. Market in the future!
To celebrate going green, Seminole Dining is also launching a student-picked selection of Endangered Species Chocolate in the P.O.D. Market! These chocolates are made from all fair-trade ingredients and 10% of the company’s net profits go towards saving wildlife! Every flavor is paired with a specific endangered species and includes information about the animal and the company’s promise inside each wrapper. Students chose which flavors we would bring to the P.O.D Market via Instagram polls during the last week of February.
