Stop the Spread of Cybercrime During Cybersecurity Month
This message has been approved by Bill Hunkapiller, Chief Information Security Officer, for distribution to students, faculty and staff.
Join FSU for National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and start practicing healthy online habits. This year, Information Technology Services (ITS) is reminding the university that together we can help keep ourselves and others safe in today’s virtual world.
With so many of our FSU community connecting remotely to learn and work, cybersecurity is more important than ever. By following basic cybersecurity practices, you can stay safe online wherever you are connecting, either on campus or virtually.
- AVOID CLOSE CONTACT WITH CYBERSCAMS Delete phishing emails and voice messages
- COVER YOUR PASSWORD Never share your password with anyone
- DON’T UNMASK YOUR IDENTITY Use 2FA for an extra layer of protection
- DISINFECT YOUR DEVICES Run antivirus software regularly
- STAY HOME Avoid public Wi-Fi or use a VPN to connect if not using your home network
Here are a few more ways you can get involved.
