Spring Semester FSU Alert Test Announcement
A message from Florida State University, approved by Assistant Vice-President for Public Safety and Chief of Police, David Perry, to all students currently taking classes, faculty, and staff.
A test of the FSU ALERT Emergency Notification & Warning System will be conducted this Thursday, February 1, 2018, sometime between 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM. Florida State University tests its alert system once per semester to verify functionality and to familiarize the campus community on how it works.
This TEST will include the following messages:
Test (You may receive the test message once or twice depending on the medium you are monitoring. Only one test message will be issued)
All Clear
ALL MESSAGES issued between “Test” and “All Clear” should be considered as a TEST; with no real emergency threat nor need to react. In the event that an actual emergency occur during the testing period, it will be made clear that testing is terminated and the warning is real. Always verify an alert by going to http://alerts.fsu.edu or by opening your SeminoleSafe Mobile app.
It is strongly recommended that you verify that you have registered your mobile telephone number in order to receive FSU ALERT messages via SMS text. For instructions, go to: http://emergency.fsu.edu/services/FSUAlert-SMSText
As part of Florida State University’s FSU ALERT Emergency Notification System, the University has the ability to send SMS text messages to mobile phones.
This test is held in conjunction with SeminoleSafe, the safety education and outreach program of Florida State University. Learn more at emergency.fsu.edu, or by following SeminoleSafe on Facebook and Twitter.
