Keeping websites clean of broken links and accessible to all users can be a real challenge. Fortunately, a new tool offered by Information Technology Services provides an easy way to find and fix pesky website problems. Siteimprove crawls websites checking for common errors—such as accessibility issues, broken links and spelling errors—then flags issues and inconsistencies and recommends fixes. Siteimprove integrates with Drupal, highlighting exactly what code needs to be fixed for easy editing, and can also be used to analyze other WCMS platforms.

Already, 48 university webmasters have jumped on board and more than 90 university websites are using Siteimprove to improve site content and ensure an inclusive user experience. “Siteimprove has been a great tool to add to our design and coding process,” says Rodney Johnson, Assistant Director of Creative Services. “Its wide range of tools and insights will help us continually improve the web experience we present to all members of the community.”
