Researchers in the FSU College of Medicine’s Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine are looking to learn the best strategy for weight loss and healthy living — and you can help!

Participants are being sought for the SMARTer Study, a 12-month healthy lifestyle and weight-loss clinical research study. If you are interested in learning more and applying to be a research participant, you can do so by visiting the research study’s website. Participants accepted into the study could receive a free health and weight-loss program with no medications involved!

The study is being led by Bonnie Spring, Ph.D., a board-certified clinical health psychologist, Krafft Professor of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine and director of the Florida Blue Center for Rural Health Research and Policy at the College of Medicine. Her research develops and evaluates technology-assisted interventions that promote healthy change in multiple chronic disease behavioral risk factors, particularly obesity, poor quality diet, physical inactivity and smoking.
