Opening Nights at FSU presents Paragon Ragtime Orchestra
Kevin L. Maynard, Executive Director of Opening Nights
The Paragon Ragtime Orchestra brings Meet Me at the Fair! to TSC Turner Auditorium on January 29 at 7:30 PM, presented by Opening Nights at FSU. This two-hour spectacular is a vibrant musical celebration of the great world’s fairs that shaped American culture, including the 1876 Centennial Exhibition, the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair, and the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition.
Featuring rotating musical “exhibits,” the program highlights works by Offenbach, Scott Joplin, Moses-Tobani, and John Philip Sousa, performed by Rick Benjamin and the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra. As the official orchestra and conductor of the U.S. Pavilion at the 1992 World’s Fair, Paragon delivers this lively, historically rich performance with authenticity, charm, and irresistible rhythm.
