One O365 campaign combines student and employee email in one system

FSU is making significant changes to the university student email environment.
As part of the One O365 campaign, Information Technology Services (ITS) is transitioning all student email accounts into the same system as employees, hosted by Office 365. At completion, all student emails will be converted to @fsu.edu email addresses and will follow the format FSUID@fsu.edu. New student applicants began receiving @fsu.edu emails starting February 4. Current student email accounts will transition to the new system the evening of May 4.
This shift will streamline communications across FSU and open the door for increased collaboration, providing everyone with unified access to Microsoft email, Teams and OneDrive storage. Professors will be able to chat with students or set up virtual office hours in a shared Microsoft Teams environment. Faculty and staff can stand up Teams for classwork or file sharing. Departments will be able to easily search for student contact information in Outlook. Student workers will be able to access and help manage department mailboxes.
This transition will not result in any changes to employee email unless an employee is a current student. Employees with a current student status will have their student mailbox, calendar and contacts merged with their employee email account and will begin receiving student emails to their @fsu.edu account.
ITS encourages colleges and departments to search their websites and documentation to replace any references to @my.fsu.edu email with @fsu.edu email and update student email links to point to the new sign in page outlook.com/fsu.edu.
Also, please be sure to update student contact information anywhere you have it stored.
