This message has been approved by Ursula Weiss, Director of the Network for Clinical Research, Training and Community Engagement, for distribution to faculty and staff.
The CTSA Network for Clinical Research, Training, and Community Engagement invites you to a special event! Registration is now open for a Special Edition Learning Series for Community Leaders on August 8th to highlight the ACTS 2 Project: African-American Alzheimer's Caregiver Training and Support. In this presentation, we are joined by Dr. Robert Glueckauf, Director of ACTS 2 Project and Professor at the FSU College of Medicine, and Tomeka Norton, ACTS 2 Project Coordinator.
The ACTS 2 Project meets the needs of distressed caregivers of older adults with dementia. The program offers faith-integrated, skills-training and support over toll-free telephone to African-American dementia caregivers residing in Florida. ACTS 2 also conducts a robust outreach effort to raise awareness about dementia through social media and community-based presentations (reaching over 7,000 annually), while also providing no-fee, telephone-based consultations and community referrals to caregivers and other stakeholders across Florida and the U.S.
