IGNITE Tallahassee Open House and Innovation Expo
This message has been approved by Alissa M. Costabile, IGNITE Program Director, FSU Research, for distribution to students, faculty and staff.
IGNITE Tallahassee will host its Open House and Innovation Expo from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 21, during FSU Discovery Days. The event is free and open to the public.
Attendees can meet the founders of six startups working out of IGNITE Tallahassee and see their technology firsthand, including solid-state battery development, AI-powered disaster response, carbon nanotube sensors and precision nanotherapeutics. Undergraduates from the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering will also exhibit projects they developed through the iCREATE Innovation Experience for Undergraduates, a summer program in which students identify a problem through customer discovery, build a prototype and deliver an investor-style pitch. Venture capitalists and angel investors will provide a late-morning panel discussion on funding strategies for new companies.
For faculty and staff, the morning offers a look at how university research moves toward the market and an opportunity to talk directly with tech founders and the IGNITE team about commercialization, student innovators and partnership opportunities.
