This year, Hispanic Latino Student Union’s theme for Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) is Pa'Lante. “Pa'Lante” (in Spanish) or “Pra Frente” (in Portuguese) translates in English as “Forward.” Students will be spending the month embracing, questioning, honoring, and thinking critically about every part of Hispanic/Latinx culture and how they collectively move forward, together. Nationally Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th through October 15th, in honoring the anniversaries of many Latin American countries. HLSU and their affiliates will be hosting events aimed at serving the Hispanic/Latinx community at Florida State University and Tallahassee during this month. From film screenings with graduate student organizations, service opportunities, field games, collaborations and community events, there are many opportunities to connect with HHM.
