Charles Ford III (he/him/his) is an alumnus of Florida State University (BS, 2018) and the University of South Florida College of Public Health (MPH, 2020) who believes in the power of health prevention and promotion through conversation and instruction.

In 2017, Charles was awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholar and completed a pre-medical internship with the FSU Global Scholars Program and the NGO Humanity and Community Development Projects (HCDP) Ghana in Ho, Ghana. From this experience Charles grew his passions for helping others through public health and infection prevention. Following graduation from USF, Charles worked for the Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough and Miami-Dade Counties as an Epidemiologist for the COVID-19 pandemic response and most recently started his career as an Infection Preventionist with HCA Florida Aventura Hospital. Charles’s research interests include multi drug resistant organisms, vector-borne diseases, and emerging infectious diseases.

Recently Charles was selected as a 2022-2023 Gilman Alumni Ambassador to speak on my experiences abroad and promote the program through social networking and presentation.
