FSU Postal Services Update for Fall 2021

FSU Postal Services Update for Fall 2021

This message has been approved by Michael Williams, Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration, for distribution to faculty and staff.

It is our desire to provide the best service and experience. Below are some reminders:

  • Address letters/packages using the following format:
       Full Name of the Recipient
       Building Name and Room Number
Street Address, City, State, & Zip Code
  • Main campus ZIP Code - 32306 - any other zip code may cause delays.

  • Please use a building’s specific street address. For example, 600 West College Avenue is NOT a valid address for the Westcott Building – the correct address is 222 S. Copeland Street. Visit postal.fsu.edu/mail-codes to find correct departmental mail code and postal route information.

  • FSU Postal Services picks up:
    • Inter-Departmental Mail
    • USPS Mail (must have applicable postage adhered or be accompanied with a charge slip)
    • UPS Outgoing Mail

  • UPS/USPS on-campus drop-off box locations: postal.fsu.edu/dropboxes
    • Mail for all other vendors such as FedEx and DHL must be taken to an authorized drop off location.

  • To avoid service delays, please verify that your information (department/mail code) in OMNI is correct. Contact your departmental HR representative for changes.

  • All Certified, Priority, Express, and Next Day mail must have an employee sign for them before they can be received. When a letter or package has been delivered, an automated e-mail will be sent to the recipient notifying them of who signed for their accountable package. All regular mail will continue to be delivered to the departments’ mailroom. Please note: OPS employees, vendors, and contractors are not listed in OMNI and most likely will not receive a confirmation e-mail.

  • If you are tracking your letter or package and you need to contact us, please make sure you have your tracking number available so we can better assist you.

  • Remember, Faculty and Staff are not authorized to receive personal mail or parcels at the University through FSU Postal Services or the Campus Mail System. Click here for more information.
