FSU Libraries Diverse Voices in STEM Symposium Call for Speakers

Florida State University Libraries invite STEM researchers at FSU to share the story of their journey into STEM fields at the Diverse Voices in STEM Symposium taking place March 2, 2023 in the Robert B. Bradley Reading room of the Robert Manning Strozier Library.
Our goal is to give a platform for people in STEM fields from various historically underrepresented identities, including but not limited to: race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, status, and ability to share their story. We would appreciate speakers willing to share the story of their journey as to how they arrived at their current position in life and what influenced their decision to study their discipline. Additionally, undergraduate student attendees will potentially see themselves in the narratives shared by speakers in hopes of spurring further studies. We also want to give our speakers the autonomy to choose how they tell their stories and what personal details they wish to share. These talks will be recorded and shared on the Diverse Voices website alongside the speaker's bio. This is an in-person event with the talks being recorded to be shared on the Diverse Voices website after the symposium has been concluded.
It would be our honor to have your voices featured as part of our symposium. Please have interested speakers or departmental representatives fill out this Call for Speaker Form by November 22, 2022, by 5:00 pm.
