International Journal for Creativity Inside (IJCI)

This message has been approved by Danielle Humphrey, Assistant Director of Media, Communications, and Marketing

IJCI is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that centers the role of creativity and artistic practice within carceral settings and brings together perspectives from scholars, practitioners, and people who have been imprisoned. They publish theoretical, practice-based, and empirical research, practitioner-centered narratives, creative works, and reviews that engage with the role of art, art therapy, and creativity within the prison system.

Their inaugural issue takes both a foundational and a global perspective on carceral systems, offering insight into the role of art, landmark studies and books related to the discipline, and practitioner-research on arts-based programming across different countries.
