Design for America Leadership Team Application

DFA FSU

This message has been approved by Morgan Hamilton, Assistant Director at the Center for Undergraduate Research and Academic Engagement, for distribution to students.

Applications are now open for the DFA-FSU student leadership team. DFA-FSU is a student led design studio that utilizes human-center design to develop solutions to campus and Tallahassee community problems. The student leadership team will recruit studio members, identify community problem areas, and facilitate multiple projects during the 2019-2020 academic year. Leadership positions are open to all majors and class years (cannot graduate before Spring 2020, at the earliest).

All student leaders are required to attend and travel to the Design for America Summit from August 8-11, 2019, at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) where they will be trained on the DFA design process (expenses for the trip will be covered). In addition, student leaders are required to take a 0-credit hour class with the CRE's Dave Montez in the fall so that the leaders have a set time each week to meet and plan upcoming activities.

Application deadline is July 7th. No prior experience with human-centered design is required.
