D'Alemberte & Palmer Lecture Welcomes Mary Robinson as 2025 Speaker

FSU College of Law is pleased to welcome former Ireland President Mary Robinson as this year's speaker for the D'Alemberte & Palmer Lecture in International Human Rights.
Robinson will speak on "The Rule of Law in International Human Rights" on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 4 p.m. at the College of Law in Auditorium 101. A reception will follow in the D'Alemberte Rotunda. The event is open to the public.
Robinson is a leading advocate for human rights, climate justice, and the rule of law. As Ireland's first female President and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, she advanced global human rights and highlighted marginalized populations. In her lecture, she will discuss the recent weakening of the rule of law and its international impact, as well as possible solutions for restoring justice and accountability.
The D'Alemberte & Palmer Lecture, made possible by Patsy Palmer, Esq., aims to educate the community and inspire FSU Law students on global human rights issues. Previous speakers include Ambassador David Scheffer (2024) and Alberto J. Mora (2023).
At the event, copies of former President Robinson's book Climate Justice will be available for purchase, and there will be a book signing.
