This message has been approved by Dr. Nicole Patton Terry, Director of the Florida Center for Reading Research, for distribution to faculty.
About the Training
This professional learning community (PLC) is designed to equip faculty at colleges and universities with the core competencies needed to develop, lead, and sustain Research-Practice Partnerships (RPPs)— a collaborative approach where academic researchers and non-academic stakeholders work together to solve pressing policy and practice challenges. Through interactive sessions, applied activities, and expert facilitation, participants will move from concept to actionable partnership, gaining the skills and resources necessary to launch and sustain impactful RPPs.
Who Should Attend?
This opportunity is open to faculty at FSU and FAMU. It is ideal for mid-career and senior tenured, tenure-track, research, and clinical faculty who are ready to actively engage in and lead research-practice partnerships. If you’re looking to move beyond self-guided learning and take the next step in public research engagement, this PLC is for you.
What to Expect?
- 3 interactive modules covering the fundamentals of RPPs with lectures, readings, and discussions
- 3 applied activities to develop essential partnership documents
- Collaborative learning & networking with peers across the university
