COVID-19 Information for Students

Florida State University is reminding everyone of the importance of staying vigilant in our efforts to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  

The university’s expectations of mask wearing and getting vaccinated have not changed. These are simple ways that you can protect yourself and others against COVID-19 and help to keep our campus fully operational.  

Remember:  

• We expect everyone to wear a face covering or mask at all times when you are at any FSU facility, even if you are vaccinated. This includes all of our students, faculty, staff, vendors and visitors. Masks are available in many areas on campus, and instructors should have a supply of masks if you need one.  

• We expect everyone to be vaccinated against COVID-19, even if you’ve had COVID-19 in the past. Full vaccination against COVID-19 is the best, most effective way to protect yourselves and others from getting COVID-19 and preventing disruption of your studies, social activities, teaching, research or work. Visit vaccine.fsu.edu for walk-in clinic dates and hours at the Tucker Center. 

• FSU is making it easier than ever to get vaccinated by holding pop-up clinics around campus. The next pop-up vaccine clinic will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, outside Doak Campbell Stadium prior to FSU’s football game against Notre Dame. The first 250 FSU students, faculty or staff to get vaccinated will receive a $50 gift card good for merchandise at the FSU Bookstore and Seminole Sportshop! If you can’t make it, pop-up clinics — with prizes — will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, and from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Strozier Library.  

• Sign up for “Your Shot to Win” now! Now through October 1, submit your vaccination card to enter a drawing to win valuable prizes, such as $3,500 in tuition and fee assistance, Dining Dollars and use of a Tucker Center luxury suite at commencement. 

• Students who have submitted vaccination cards and do not have symptoms are not required to quarantine if they are a close contact. By submitting your vaccination records, you are speeding up the contact tracing process. (Unvaccinated individuals who have a close contact must quarantine for 10 days after an exposure.)  

• We expect you to stay home when sick, self-quarantine and get tested for COVID-19 no sooner than 24 hours after your symptoms begin. You can test for no cost at the Tucker Center. Schedule your test at uhs.fsu.edu/coronavirus/testing.
