Changes Are Coming For HIPAA Zoom Users
This message has been approved by Bobby Sprinkle, chief technology officer.
The Florida State University Zoom environment has been enhanced and is now HIPAA-compliant! With this recent enhancement, the legacy HIPAA Zoom offering is going away at the end of the Fall 2021 semester, and all FSU users may now use the standard FSU Zoom. This change will provide new features, including cloud recording, and you will no longer need to switch between environments.
If you are currently using the HIPAA zoom environment, you will need to complete a few steps to migrate to the standard FSU Zoom environment. You are encouraged to begin this migration process now. After December 15 you will no longer be able to access your HIPAA Zoom account and will use only your standard FSU Zoom account.
- Sign in to the standard FSU Zoom
- Update your existing Outlook calendar appointments for future Zoom meetings to reflect the new meeting links
If you have questions about the migration process, please contact the ITS Service Desk.
