Carothers Lecture Series Begins Sept. 19

Carothers Lecture Series

This message has been approved by Janet Kistner, Vice President of Faculty Development and Advancement.

The Milton S. Carothers Faculty Lecture Series is the longest running, regularly occurring, interdisciplinary lecture series at Florida State University. Established in 1981 by the Rev. Carothers at the Presbyterian University Center (Westminster House), the series transitioned from the Faculty Luncheon Series to the Carothers Lecture Series in 2021 with an increased focus on interdisciplinary faculty research, community, and outreach. We are happy to kick off the 2022-23 season with a lecture from Mathew Hauer, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, College of Social Sciences and Public Policy.

The purpose of the series is to promote the research and creative activities of FSU's faculty in an interdisciplinary environment that translates those activities across boundaries to a broad audience with an eye toward bridging academic disciplines, facilitating interdisciplinary collaborations, and promoting faculty research, on and off campus. Dr. Hauer will talk to us about how "Climate Migration Amplifies Demographic Change and Population Aging."
