OPERATIONAL ADJUSTMENTS

Beginning Sunday, May 9th we will be implementing the following changes to reflect the updated guidelines and improve the Campus Recreation experience at our facilities.

  • No reservation needed. Reservations will no longer be needed to access any Campus Recreation facility. Access will be on a walk-in basis up to full facility capacity.  Facility entry and exit will be monitored to ensure appropriate usage levels. When full, patrons will be required to wait outside until another patron exits. You can monitor facility occupancy levels in the FSU Rec app. Occupancy levels are updated throughout the day to ensure you won’t have to wait.
  • No daily wellness check. Campus Recreation will no longer require completion of the University’s Daily Wellness Check prior to entry into a facility, sign-in for a Group Fitness class, or participation in events. As always, we encourage patrons to monitor their health and stay home if they feel ill.
  • Locker rooms and restrooms reopen for socially distant use. Patrons at the Leach Center and FMC will now have full access to changing rooms and showers in the locker rooms. Restrooms are open on all levels.  At the Leach Center, patrons may use the locker room to enter the pool and spa areas.
  • The main entrance can be used to access the pool. The main entrance will be used to admit all facility users for access to the Leach and the pool. Patrons will also exit through the main entrance in a return to normal operations.
  • Face masks are recommended. Following Leon County and Florida State University guidelines, a face mask is still recommended indoors while on campus. A face mask is recommended while you are exercising and in common spaces.
  • A water bottle is required. Don’t forget to bring your own water bottle or other sealable container to stay hydrated during your workout. Our water fountains will remain unavailable although our bottle fillers remain open.
  • Regular cleaning of facilities. Our facilities are sanitized throughout the day using CDC-recommended cleaning products and have approved cleanings before opening and after closing each day.
  • Scan in and out of facilities. Patrons will need to connect their FSUID to the FSU Rec app to scan in and out of the facilities. This helps us monitor facility occupancy and track when facilities reach capacity.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will make further changes as necessary. If you have specific questions about our procedures or guidelines, visit our website campusrec.fsu.edu for more information. We look forward to seeing you all again during the summer term.
