Apply for the Truman Scholarship!

Truman Scholarship

This message has been approved by Craig Filar, Director, Office of National Fellowships, for distribution to students.

The Truman Scholarship is a nationally competitive award for students that want to work in public service. Scholars can come from any discipline, and we work with you to articulate your perspective on public service (it is not just for future politicians, which is a common misconception). Scholars are selected based on rich engagement with your academics and research, your leadership and your service.

You must be a junior (third year) to apply for this award. Junior is defined as a student enrolled in your third out of four (or third and final) years at the university, not by credit hours. The Campus deadline for this year’s application for consideration as one of the university’s nominees is Nov. 3, 2021, so contact Dr. Craig Filar, cfilar@fsu.edu to set up an appointment to talk about this amazing opportunity.

You can learn more about the award on the Truman Scholarship website:  www.truman.gov
