Hannah is a first-generation college graduate from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in exercise physiology, Bachelor of Science in food and nutrition science, and minors in biology, chemistry and psychology. She graduated as a member of the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society. She earned her Honors in the Major in the lab of Dr. Gloria Salazar with her thesis titled: “The role of Cornus officinalis in preventing senescence of vascular smooth muscle cells.” Additionally, she worked as a research assistant in the lab of Dr. Judy Delp, where she focused on determining the cardiovascular benefits of late-life exercise training. She was listed as a co-author and published in the Journal of Applied Physiology. Hannah also was an active member in MAPS and Undergraduate SSTRIDE, which allowed her to participate in the clinical medical assistant class, and at the end of her externship at Neighborhood Medical Center she was certified as a medical assistant. After graduation, she worked as a medical assistant at Dermatology Advanced Care in Tallahassee and as a lab instructor for the medical assistant class at Health Science Consulting. After involvement in both research and clinical practice, she found her passion lies in the clinical interaction with patients. She is honored and grateful to be part of the FSU College of Medicine because of its patient-centered emphasis on minority and underserved populations.
