Recently, the University made changes to the Summer 2024 academic calendar that may affect your teaching and research activities. It has approved the observance of two new holidays: Juneteenth on June 19, 2024, and July 4-5, 2024. On these days, classes will be canceled, and the University will be closed.

If you are teaching this summer, please review and update your syllabi to reflect these closures. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as you review your summer schedules and adjust accordingly, if necessary. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your department chair/school director or dean.

Faculty conducting research should be aware that these closures cover lab and support staff, including their duties related to experiments underway during those times. If you have any questions about the impact on your research, please contact the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.
