Opening Nights at FSU presents Bassel & The Supernaturals
Kevin L. Maynard, Executive Director of Opening Nights
Bassel & The Supernaturals are bringing their powerhouse blend of funk, soul, and Syrian storytelling to Opperman Music Hall on November 12 at 7:30 PM, presented by Opening Nights at FSU. Led by Syrian-American singer Bassel Almadani, this touring soul-jazz activist ensemble delivers powerful grooves and heartfelt lyrics exploring love, loss, and identity — all wrapped in their motto: “Syrian Heart, Chicago Soul.”
Their performance weaves together Bassel’s personal story and the group’s humanitarian mission to build a better future for refugees in the U.S. and abroad. With past performances at the Kennedy Center and on PBS’s The Express Way, this is a show you won’t want to miss.
